Miles' fifth birthday started out the Monday prior, actually, when his reign as Star of the Week began at preschool. That pretty much meant show and tell everyday for him along with a special seat during circle and a special song just for him. He stood up and told his class all about his favorite things: swimming, playing basketball, the Pacers and how his daddy took him to a game last year, peanut butter and jelly. Oh, and don't forget the dirt cupcakes for snack, per his request.
On the big day he came down to lots of balloons. Who needs toys when little boys can play with balloons? For hours.
Then I made him go outside for a few pictures as a five year old. Below he is playing golf or hockey with a balloon.
He told us that he'd like to go bowling for his birthday so bowling we went. He'd never been before. The kids had a really good time
but their attention spans weren't long enough. Wrestling was a good way to pass the time in between turns.
{My camera settings were blah so this was the most in focus picture of the kids. And of the three of us.}
An after pizza dance party was fun, too.
Then back to our house we went for a dinosaur cake with lots of candles (per Miles' request).
