Such a big boy

Miles had his 1 year check-up last week and all looked great. The doctor was very pleased with his progress - he's off the bottle now and eating like a pig! I can't imagine where his appetite came from. Same with the pup. Eats voraciously and is growing like a weed.
Miles also said his first word last week - Archie (or AaaEeeee). Nice. Josh and I were hoping for something a little more substantial. Maybe a word that he had been hearing over and over since birth. No, the dog's name is his first. At least it's not accompanied by other words that frequently come before or after Archie around here. Ha!

The stats -
Weight: 22lbs, 5 oz
Length: 31.75"
Head - Contrary to what Josh thinks, it's only in the 50th percentile

Archie - 9lbs (he was 3 lbs 3 weeks ago!)

Thanks for my HC tee, Lolly and Poppy!

Can you see all my hair? Look closely, it's there!

Growing boys...

A couple of recent pictures of Miles and Archie. I can't believe how much of a big boy Miles has become, and Archie gets bigger (fatter) by the day. They are really starting to enjoy each other. That is when Archie isn't biting.

Our little sticker stinker...

Miles woke up on Tuesday morning with a quarter of his face covered in this strange red spot. His right eye was swollen and he looked a mess. We went into the dr.'s office to have it checked (it was not a big deal), and on the way out, Miles was given a sticker. On the way home, he started coughing and gagging... the sticker. The stinker had gotten a hold of it and eaten the entire thing. I'm sure this won't be the strangest thing he ever eats.

First Birthday Party

Some pictures from the first birthday party. And a couple of the other little growing boy in our household.

What do I do with this thing?

Oh, I rock on it!

Thanks for the scarf and hat, Lolly. But do I look like a pimp in them?

Wii-ing in the basement.

Wait, Archie - I want to put you in the truck!

Miles' cake

Mmmm, this cake stuff is GOOD!

Too much! I'm coming down off of my sugar buzz, and it's just too much!

And finally, the littlest guy. Archie sleeps through the night now and is eating well. Wait, does it sound like we have another infant in the house?

Happy First Birthday, Miles!

The little guy has turned one! We cannot imagine where the last year has gone. We are so blessed to have such a happy and even keeled little guy, and we look forward to all the fun ahead.

What's going on with Miles at one year:
• 8 teeth! We think that the top middle two must be permanent.
• Cruising around everything. Miles cannot sit still and wants to be standing all the time. He especially loves to "help" with the laundry (read: stand up and bang on the inside of the washer/dryer).
• Eating almost anything. He loves to eat and his appetite is very strong. He seems to especially enjoy potatoes (white and sweet), pasta, and applesauce.
• Reading. While it has become difficult to read to Miles as he cannot sit still, he loves to read to himself when he's supposed to be sleeping.
• Not so sure about Archie. He likes him until the razor teeth sink into his skin which is as soon as Archie and Miles make contact.

A then and now picture...

Happy Halloween

Miles' first Halloween was an eventful one (see next post). He was our little Charlie Brown, and we all met over at cousins Max and Molly's house for a little pre-trick or treat festivities.

Hey guys, wait for me!

Scary headless man, Werewolf, Charlie, Homer Simpson, Hannah Montana, Hannah Montana, Batman, Fairy Princess

Yum, time to eat some of this loot.

What the heck do I do with this Great Pumpkin?

Our little Charlie.

Are we crazy?

Apparently the answer is YES! As if a nearly 1 year old isn't enough to keep up with, we, after much consideration, added to our family on Friday.
Announcing...
Archie!

We have been talking for the last six months about when a "good" time would be to adopt a doggie. With a toddler moving about, we really can't imagine a good time (I can't believe he's really almost an official toddler!), so we just went ahead with it. So far he's a great little (REALLY little) English Bulldog puppy who seems to be adjusting well. We'll keep our fingers crossed that this continues.
