lake michigan...

We spent last week at our favorite beach destination on Lake Michigan. We look forward to this trip for  a looonnng time and love that it's become an annual thing (Miles had me make him a countdown calendar because he asked so many times when we were going to the beach house).

All of our kiddos loved the lake this year. None were particularly fearful but all were very good about practicing water safety.
 The whole gang.

Everyone got along so well. Addie and Lauren were big buddies.

Annual dance party.

This look of Miles' is probably my favorite part of the trip.

She was so focused on filling the small bucket to pour into the bigger bucket.

The last evening, Miles was under the weather. I took the other two down with the group to watch the sunset. Johnny was chomping on a piece of blue gum which my f-i-l wrestled away from him. After we were finished taking pictures, John picked gum up out of the sand and kept on chewing. Came to find out, it was NOT the gum that Ron had thrown away earlier. Gross.

Already looking forward to next year!!

fourth of july...

Some pictures of our 4th of July celebrations. Miles was invited to ride in our parade on the Lion's Club float. He was so excited to ride up front and wave to the crowds.

Practicing his wave...

John and Lauren took turns watching for Miles on daddy's shoulders...

Here he is!!

We stopped by Luke & Bridget's for haircuts (John and Josh). You'd have thought that John was enduring the worst pain of his life. They did each get a popsicle, though.

Thursday afternoon we went out to Highland with the Luke Habeggers. The little ones diving for money in the kiddie pool.

We cleaned up and enjoyed a nice dinner after a full afternoon of swimming. We didn't last until the fireworks. These children were too tuckered out!

hilton head & savannah

Josh and I returned Sunday from a few days in Hilton Head and Savannah. More of a vaca for me since he had to do a little work while in HHI but still so nice to get away for a little time with my hubby.

{this was from possibly my laziest day in the last 5 1/2 years. I sat under an umbrella at the pool for 7(!) hours reading and being waited on. My legs were a little jellyish by the end of the day}

Savannah

While we were away, our kiddies were in Berne. Their trip looked a little like this...
