last day of school...

Miles just hopped on the bus for his last day of first grade. John will have his final day of pre-k this afternoon. Sigh. I cannot believe how quickly this school year has gone. While I am so excited to spend this summer with these guys, the close of the school year always makes me a little sad. Miles has had an outstanding year this year with an awesome teacher. He has learned so much; it's really pretty incredible to see just how much! And John is really excited about kindergarten next fall. Mainly about riding the bus with Miles. Lauren loved her little preschool program. She was one of the older ones and was really in her element as the big girl in the class. We couldn't be more proud of these three!

And just because they finally started blooming today.

lately...

Well, I've skipped past a lot of time since the last post. Lots of pictures, not much news. The last few weeks have just flown by and here we are entering the last two days of school for my first grader and pre-schooler.

Since Spring Break, we have played in puddles, finished one preschool, played whiffle ball, shot lots of Nerf darts, visited our new neighbors, the firefighters, worked in the yard, and played dress up at Lolly and Poppy's. We had a Memorial Day weekend full of playing outside, staying up way too late, eating too many popsicles, having lots of fun with family and friends, and gearing up for summer vacation.

** I'm a little more regular about posting on Instagram (habegger5).

spring break...

We are officially back into our schedules after a relaxing and fun spring break. Some pictures from our week...

First up was Easter. The bunny came and didn't disappoint. After church we had a fabulous brunch at Highland with my parents. Lauren and John still didn't want anything to do with the bunny; Miles got close enough for a high 5. This guy was a little creepy looking so I don't blame them! We didn't stick around for the egg hunt there (it didn't look much like there was hunting, more like a free for all) so we had one at home instead. I was ready to go anyway since Miles very nearly took me out when he decided to take a golf cart for a spin. The look on his face (and probably mine too) was pretty funny, after the fact.

My mom stuck around to drive to Nashville with the kids and me. We had a great couple of days with Lucie and Kurt and visited an amazing children's museum while we were there. The kids could have spent the entire day there!

The rest of the week was spent doing lots of scooter riding and enjoying the spring weather. Makes me ready for summer vacation!

trip to fort thomas...

Last weekend the little boys and I headed to my parents for a visit and the HUMC Bunny breakfast. I remember going to this as a child and little had changed. We had a great time - they had a pancake breakfast, egg hunt, baby animals to pet, and pictures with Mr. Bunny himself (John was terrified,  Miles didn't want to go too close). Friday night I found some old formals and mom's wedding dress. It was fun playing dress-up.

Then we visited Poppy at the store and checked out the always popular freight elevator and fork lift.

And date night pictures with John and Lauren. They had mom's night at school this week and I was happy to spend a little one-on-one time with them.

snow days and west baden...

Lately. We finally had a couple of good snow falls that happened to come over the weekend. The first was while my parents were in town. Both involved lots of sledding.

Josh and Lauren's daddy/daughter night at her pre-school.

After Miles' final basketball game.

We were all down in the basement and came up to some noise and to John in this position. With berry tops all over the floor. Busted!

Last weekend we met my parents and Lucie (we missed Kurt who had to stay back for school) at West Baden. We swam, bowled, ate well, celebrated Lu's birthday, admired the amazing architecture, and had a wonderful time. The train that took us back and forth between the two hotels was a huge hit for the kids.
