lately...

Some pictures from our summer so far...

< Lauren, ranger rides in Berne, a visit to the Cincinnati Zoo (and feeding a giraffe!), a visit with Lolly and Poppy, celebrating my birthday, a trip to the strawberry patch, Uncle Ben & Aunt Joanna's summer party, and Father's Day. >
A great start to the summer!

end of school...

School. Is. Out!

Yesterday marked the end of school for both boys. I really think it was a great year for both. While Miles was very ready for summer break, he enjoyed kindergarten and learned so much. On to first grade!

The week leading up to this was Spirit Week. Whatever theme of the day Miles was celebrating, John wanted to celebrate too. First up, hat day.

 Then mix and match.
 And super hero day.

Our Memorial Day weekend was really nice and relaxing. We are back to this!

Then Tuesday L and I picked John up at school and walked to Pizzology. So nice to have a little date lunch with these two. We stopped by M's school after for Field Day. So many kids!

Miles was able to wear his 100 Book Club shirt proudly.

And the last day. A little last/first day comparison (I'm having trouble switching it).

And some randoms. Lauren loving the mud (wants to do anything those big dirty brothers do, usually in a "pretty dress").

A night out with my girls.

A picture to document how seriously fabulous her bed head is.

And finally, after waiting for seemingly forever, they are blooming. And all at once.

mother's day...

Some pictures from my Mother's Day yesterday. We started off with a delicious homemade breakfast courtesy of Josh and were able to spend the morning with his parents. Then the five of us played at the IMA gardens for awhile.
Later we had a picnic lunch followed by a flower planting party. A beautiful day with my wonderful family.

The protective mama goose who scared the tears right out of Johnny.

breakfast date...

This is definitely one of those journal entry kind of posts. The kind of morning I don't want to forget.
It was walk to school day (which I love, by the way) and after getting Miles to school, Lauren and I walked down to Patachou for breakfast. Just us girls. We had the most wonderful morning, just enjoying our breakfast and each other. I felt the need to walk a little extra after my giant breakfast so we walked through a nearby neighborhood. Lauren wanted to walk with me so she helped push the stroller, picked bouquets of dandelions, and played in fallen crabapple petals. It took us about an hour to walk a mile but so what? It was such a sweet morning with my girl.
