The Week in Review

A recap of Miles' week...

First we attended the baptism of sweet cousin Addie. She was a little angel throughout and Luke and Bridget had a great party after. Miles and his cousins helped clean the homemade ice cream up.

We headed to Fort T to visit Lolly and Poppy on Tuesday and had a chance to hang out with some girlfriends and their adorable kiddos.

Friday was a steambath around here. Although we didn't make it to the pool, Miles and Archie had fun playing together in the water.

We visited in Berne Saturday, and Miles and Brady had a blast wrestling and chasing each other. It's so fun that they are so close in age and get along so well!

Today we met Josh at the pool for some swimming and lunch to cap off his morning of golf. Happy Father's Day, Joshie!

And finally our yard was finished. There are still a few little odds and ends to clean up, but here is the finished product: a more level yard for little guy to play in, complete with a few fish in the pond!

Technology and little fingers...

A combination that does not mix. Miles is intensely attracted to things he should not play with: the phone, the remote, my cell phone, the camera. Each has been lost recently. I needed to replace my cell phone (still haven't found the old one) and the camera was finally found today (that didn't turn out to be his fault). The remote is still missing.

Anyway, here are a few pics of the muddy mess that is our yard. We're having a section of it flattened out to make a play area; the yard was really just one giant and steep sledding hill. The rock wall is holding up the flat area and a waterfall comes through one section of the wall. Miles has enjoyed watching the men work and use the tractor. Here's what's happening:

Here are a couple pics of Miles from today. He just continues to be more and more fun. In an effort to surprise Josh when he comes home from his trip tonight, I cut the back of Miles' hair so that he no longer looks like Kenny Powers. It looks okay, but the curls are gone! :(

Water Baby

Miles made his first trip of the summer to the pool over the weekend. Despite the baby pool temps hovering around 50 (seemingly), Miles enjoyed playing with the toys. He and his daddy had much more fun playing in the big (much warmer) pool. We were wondering how he would take to the pool water after not being in since last summer. So far so good.

Then Miles had a trip to the golf course Sunday afternoon. He loved being able to run freely on the course and had a blast chasing the balls around. It makes us that much more excited about this yard project we've started (more on that later).

Bull in a China Shop

Miles and I headed to Ft. T for the day Saturday. Miles had a blast at my dad's store. He went from fountain to fountain playing in the water and making a great mess. We wondered if it was a bad idea to contain him in a giant pot...

We also made a trip to the track on Friday for Carb Day. Miles was not a fan. The ear infection didn't help, and it was just way too loud for his sore little ears.

Little Red (or white) Legging Star

A couple of pictures of Miles channeling his favorite Reds player, Jay Bruce. He laughs and laughs when we say that name in deep and exaggerated voice.
And a picture of Miles on his first golf cart ride. He enjoyed dinner at the end of the ride more than the ride itself.

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful 2nd Mother's Day yesterday. My parents, sister and brother-in-law, and parents-in-law were all in town, and we all had a wonderful visit. Yesterday we went to church, had a yummy brunch at Highland, and planted my presents - beautiful flowers for the yard. Thanks to my boys for making it such a wonderful day!

A few pics from the weekend:

Miles hugs are the best!

TIMBERRRRR

We were sad to lose our gi-normous beech tree today. It was a strange but very cool old tree. However, it was rotten inside and posed a threat to our house. It was so big that the tree guys had to bring a crane in, and one guy dangled from the crane and cut from inside the tree. Yikes! Miles was enthralled.

WOW!

After (what a mess!):
