Miles' first Halloween was an eventful one (see next post). He was our little Charlie Brown, and we all met over at cousins Max and Molly's house for a little pre-trick or treat festivities.
Hey guys, wait for me! Scary headless man, Werewolf, Charlie, Homer Simpson, Hannah Montana, Hannah Montana, Batman, Fairy Princess Yum, time to eat some of this loot. What the heck do I do with this Great Pumpkin? Our little Charlie.
Apparently the answer is YES! As if a nearly 1 year old isn't enough to keep up with, we, after much consideration, added to our family on Friday. Announcing... Archie!
We have been talking for the last six months about when a "good" time would be to adopt a doggie. With a toddler moving about, we really can't imagine a good time (I can't believe he's really almost an official toddler!), so we just went ahead with it. So far he's a great little (REALLY little) English Bulldog puppy who seems to be adjusting well. We'll keep our fingers crossed that this continues.
We've been enjoying this fall heat wave very much. We visited the Indianapolis Zoo for the first time with our friends, Sue and Carter, and went to Hanover for our 10th reunion. We can't believe it's been 10 years already. It was great to go back and see lots of friends and the changes that have been made at HC recently. Miles enjoyed seeing his future alma mater, too.

To celebrate the first weekend of fall, we picked out pumpkins at a nearby pumpkin patch. It wasn't the sweater and jeans kind of weekend that you'd expect from fall, but it was beautiful out (I think Miles even got sunburned on his face - nice parenting). He is all over the place now, pulling up everywhere. He's keeping us on our toes!
Josh and I just returned from Vegas, and wouldn't you know, while we were away Miles started doing things that he had no interest in doing for us. He spent half of the time in Berne chasing Sophie the dog around and helping to finish Granny and Grandpa's house and the other half doing things like feeding himself and drinking from a cup. Granny (and the company of his slightly older cousins) got him picking up and eating all kinds of food. He evidently had a blast! He's been a bit clingy today, though, so at least we know he's glad we're home. Meanwhile, we had a blast. We did some gambling, golfing, and plenty of eating/drinking and relaxing.
We took a trip to the apple orchard yesterday with the Stormer girls and my cousins, Kylee and Brady. I really enjoyed the dirt and grass much more than the apples.
I didn't eat any apples but you sure wouldn't know that from looking at the size of my belly!
Julia sure likes them.
I'm really into (and on top of) dad's guitar. It makes such a cool sound and is a great place to stand.
