Best Invention Ever
The previous owners of our house did some things that we can't quite figure out, but they did one really great thing - they split the baby room door! Since we haven't installed gates yet, this door works quite nicely. Miles and I played in his room today, and he discovered the doll bed with all of his stuffed animals. I had such fun watching him investigate each animal and then put aside to check out the next one.

9 (and 1/2) Month Appointment
Miles finally had his 9 month appointment today. The doctor was very pleased with his progress and said that all looked great. I scheduled his one year appointment today, and that was quite strange. I can't believe we're already to that point! Now, the stats:
Length: 29.75 inches (92nd %)
Weight: 20 lbs, 14 ounces (60th %)
Head: Oh, who knows. She didn't even give me a % so it must be off the charts.

On the road again...
Last week we traveled to see Granny and Grandpa in Berne. They are re-doing their entire house so we went to check it out. It's really going to be great when it's all finished! Then we went to Ft. T to see Lolly, Poppy, Auntie Lu and Uncle Kurt (and the wild animals) and to celebrate Lolly and Poppy's 35th anniversary with them. I think we're going to stay put for awhile.
Checking out the new shower that Grandpa and my uncles tiled. Wow!

Hanging out with Grandpa at the cabin.

Getting to sit with the grown-ups at the table. Check out my mom's old high chair!

Happy Anniversary, Lolly and Poppy!

I don't get to do this very often anymore!

Big Weekend!
We had a very nice weekend. Josh & I celebrated our 9th anniversary on Thursday, Miles REALLY started crawling - intentionally moving forward - and we traveled to Cincinnati for a girls spa day/family picnic. Oh, and on Friday, the three of us went to see some little bully pups. As you can see, Miles was smitten (so was I, but we're still deciding whether or not this is the right time. You know, a mobile child and a tiny pup may be too much!).
9 years ago - just married!

Dad, can we please take him home?

Our budding FFA star
We had quite an agricultural themed weekend. Friday we went to a beautiful dairy farm in Zionsville. They have a really nice farmer's market, and Miles checked out the cows as they went in to be milked. Then he cheered on the Colts (check out the shirt, Uncle Kurt), and we headed out to the State Fair yesterday. Miles was particularly impressed by the horses but less impressed by the world's largest hog.
He is now 9 months old; I can't believe the time has gone so quickly! He is quite adept at moving backward but is still working on the forward motion. Won't be long, I'm sure!

Go Colts - a Ft. T boy threw for at least one TD!

Check out how little I am next to this monster tractor!

Boo-boo
Miles is trying desperately to crawl. He bounces forward on his behind, often pushing himself forward onto his head. Well, he did this yesterday at the pool onto the concrete, despite me being right there. I felt like a real jerk at the grocery today when the checker asked what happened to his head. Oh well, this won't be the last bump.
Miles continues to be a happy little guy. My mom came last weekend to stay while I went on a girl's weekend and Josh played in a golf tournament. Auntie Lu and Uncle Kurt are coming tonight for the weekend. Yeah!
