Halloween 2009

Our Halloween week started off with a bit of a kink. Miles came down with a bug. Not "the bug", but enough of one to keep him from doing some pre-Halloween festivities with friends. He ran a temperature for about 3 days and finally shook it on Halloween. Since he was still not totally back to himself, we didn't make the rounds, but did get to visit with some family and friends. And I must say, he was the cutest little sheep around!

Friday night. Still running a fever. He doesn't look very sick, does he?

I went to an annual Halloween party with some friends while Josh stayed home with sicky. Two witches and an old lady (minus the head pieces of all of our costumes).

The little sheep with Grandma and Grandpa.

Hanging out with some neighborhood friends.

Keeping an eye on all of the nearby candy.

Just a couple of pictures from the weekend...

Our little "sheep" at the Highland Halloween party. He enjoyed the food and the company, but wasn't so sure about the dance party lights and really didn't like the haunted house.

Loved the leaves at the annual Werst fall party in Shelbyville. He had so much fun chasing the bigger cousins around and putting rocks and sticks inside car hubcaps. Must have made for a fun surprise when people started to drive away.

Fall Colors

When I came downstairs today, the sun was coming up through the trees in the most interesting way. I took a few pictures of what we're looking out on now.

Mohawk Mishap

I gave in and agreed to let Josh give Miles a "faux" hawk yesterday. It does look cute (and was never long enough to create an obvious mohawk), but it's a little crooked. So we have to gel it up to make it look straight, and thus more apparent. Why on earth did I let Josh use clippers in the first place?! He's a man obsessed now!

Pre-cut, before the sound of the clippers sent him to tears.

Oktoberfest

Yesterday we headed over to Trader's Point farm for their annual Oktoberfest. It was a beautiful day to be outside, and Miles seemed to enjoy the day's events, particularly the calves and the pumpkins.

These are the perfect size.

One or the other?

Here's a good one!

Wait, I can lift it.

This calf has a soft nose!

Happiness is

having a full belly and running around with your favorite blankie.

It's also having not one, not two, but three dogs to play with along with grandparents and an aunt to dote on you. We spent the weekend in Ft. T with auntie Lu while Josh traveled to Nashville for a boys weekend. They had (too much) fun cheering the Colts on to victory over the Titans, and we had a great time hanging out with my family. Of course, I never remember to bring out the camera in time.

Bulldogs and a Major Haircut

Let's just start with the latter. Miles received his first (major) haircut over the weekend. Now, he's had several where one of us holds him down and the other makes a few snip snips here and there, but this was the first one of any significance. I gave Josh the green light to use clippers with the understanding that it would be longer than his hair. Not so much. It is cute, though, and it does always grow back (and the curls had grown out anyway).

Archie participated in Butler University's Bulldog Beauty Contest on Saturday during their Homecoming festivities. It was a really well organized and fun event. There were over 90 bullies there! Archie didn't win any Butler accolades, but he did score big with us. He behaved very well and actually listened. More than we can say about his at home behavior. :)

And finally, a couple of cute pictures from last week at the golf course. Maybe our last family trip for the year (it's getting cool!).
