farewell summer...

The last couple of years I've started summer off with a "to do" list. We didn't make our way through all of them but did come close...

building a sandcastle, seeing neighbor natalie in a play, growing our garden, conner prairie, lots of basketball, catching lightning bugs, lots of bike rides, going on a hike...

fireworks, lots of water days, golf, silly days, picnics...

lake michigan, painting parties (it's more fun to paint each other than the paper!), mid-day ice cream, feeding ducks, visiting grandparents, seeing their first movie (monster's university), breakfast at the park, summer kids' concert...

and a few not on the list - an ER trip and first stitches (let's NOT repeat that one), outside showers, a boot (not on next year's list either), roomies, riding in the parade...

It was a wonderful summer. Josh and I both agreed - the best yet. I'm always sad for it to end. But... so far school is going well. I'm enjoying my quiet time with our little gal each morning, and the cooler fall temps are nice. Of course we all woke up September 1st with allergy colds. Oh well. Here's to a great summer!
