I cannot believe that three years have gone by since we met this little guy. Well, big actually. 97% and 90% in height and weight respectively. Johnny is such a sweetie. A hilarious, sensitive sweetie.
Every night he has to go into Lauren's room to say goodnight. Otherwise, lots and lots of tears. He loves his little sissy.
He also still loves to hold our hands. Walking down the stairs, to the potty, across the parking lot. He looks up at us with those beautiful blue eyes and grabs our hands. Melts my heart every time.
The potty - he uses it. One in diapers now. Awesome.
John loves basketball. Both playing and watching. He is a big IU fan and loves to yell "IU, baby!" and "that's my guy!" (Cody Zeller)
He likes this sword that Grandma Habegger gave to all the boys. He likes to whack us with it on the handle side. He yells "whack" when he does it too. Funny, but painful.
John John likes school okay. It's definitely better than the beginning of the year.
He likes to dance. A lot. He did not inherit rhythm from his mother or father, but the boy has some moves. This is his "shake the dice" move. I like how he cocks his head to the side.
The birthday...
We had fun putting together treats for his class at school. I never got to do this when I was growing up (the only downside to a summer birthday). These started off as snowmen but the bases kept crumbling and I decided that three year olds didn't need the extra sugar. Especially mine.
We had a little party for Johnny. He requested Elmo cake, and I put together some gummy treats. Our boys love gummies!
Pizza and cake.
Then we headed downstairs for some dancing and an indoor snowball fight (note all of the cotton balls).
The little boys.
On Saturday, his actual birthday, he opened a few gifts...
enjoyed coffee cake (complete with candle)...
and spent the rest of the day outside. We went hiking at Cool Creek Park. I love this picture; his eyes crack me up!
After we enjoyed hamburgers (per Johnny's request) and the best birthday cake EVER!
