Rice Family Vaca

We just returned from a wonderful week with my family at Lake Michigan. We had excellent company, lots of laughter, relaxation, good eats. Our weather wasn't the best (really, the first cool week of the summer and we're at the beach?!), but we certainly made do. Fortunately our house had neighborhood (heated) pool access so we could still swim on those days when lake swimming just wasn't going to happen.

Some pictures of our week...

The Lorax made a beach appearance...

Miles loved his blue snowcone. And the beach.

John caught a tiny frog. Poor frog.

Lauren discovered her fishy face.

Beach playing.

Pool playing.

Miles swimming really took off this past week. He's been swimming weekly for awhile now but he made huge strides this week. No swimmies for this little fish (except for at the lake. That makes me a little nervous).

Josh and I celebrated our 13th anniversary while we were there. Date night (we rode bikes to dinner. Ha!)

Family pics on the beach at sunset.

On one of the less nice days my dad and I took Miles up to St. Joseph to a children's museum. It was very cool, but the big surprise was a pirate/sea street art installation. Miles thought that was pretty cool.

More beach time - little sandy toes!

We're glad to be home but so glad that we could spend such a wonderful week away together!
