Five Months Old

Dear Sweet Baby John,

You are five months old. Really?! You are growing into such a sweet and hearty babe. Those cute chubby legs. Those round cheeks. And your eyes are amazing. They are sooo blue.

You are turning into such the little social butterfly. You want to be where the people are and cry if you aren't. You love to charm everyone around and can't get enough of your brother. You are even interested in other babies, namely your smaller twin baby cousins.

You have started to suck your thumb. It's so cute. I really need a picture of it. The angle that you hold your thumb is a hoot!

You are very wiggly. You are more and more difficult to hold (although you still are snuggly when you are tired - love it!). It's funny to find you facing totally different directions in your bed than when we put you there. You are strong, too. You push up really well and like to look around. Why not? There is so much to see from that angle.

Sometimes we catch a glimpse of Miles in you at your age. Not often, though. You look like John. You like to try to imitate your brother, too. Miles loves to make his tarzan/fire engine call thisclose to your ears (on another note, I hope your hearing is okay. Miles is LOUD!), and sometimes you'll make a similar sound back. We might need to invest in some earplugs soon!

You might be getting a tooth. We don't feel or see anything just yet, but the other symptoms are there. We'll have to watch that one...

Five months have passed in the blink of an eye, it seems, just like the last 2 1/2 years have with Miles. You both bring us immeasurable joy, and we love you so much!
